Boehner Takes the Democrat's Bait
Posted: September 12, 2010, 12:38AM►Boehner says he'd support a middle-class tax cut
Clearly Boehner, part of the Republican establishment, has fallen right into Obama's trap by choosing a political stance rather than a firm stance that will benefit the country.
If Boehner votes for this concession on the Bush tax cuts, he then completely abolishes any accountability by the Democrats when the expiring tax cuts to those who hire and contribute most to economic growth result in crippling the economy in 2011.
The Democrats will then be in a position to say that even with Republican support to extend the Bush tax cuts our economy is still not recovering. Therefore more government intervention and stimulus is needed. They will then support that idea with examples of growth that had nothing to do with the stimulus, nor the government.
At the same time they will be very careful to not mention that the 'meat' of the Bush tax cuts that had stimulated the economy in the Bush years and that would encourage businesses to expand and hire if extended, had expired.
The media nor the Republican establishment would even dare to question it.
