House GOP Trim $60 Billion from Obama's Budget; What About the $100 Billion Promise?

Well, they gave one back. The House GOP have been on a rampage since January wiping out Obama's agenda, including his 'Czars', but with this budget cut they tossed one back to the Democrats.

In their Pledge to America they promised to cut at least $100 billion from this year's budget, which is barely petty cash when compared to Obama's $3.69 trillion behemoth. That's hardly something to write home about. Still, and this is simplifying an unnecessary complicated issue, parliamentary procedures that the REPUBLICANS have in place have prevented them from cutting the entire $100 billion in one swath.

(They left that little detail out of their Pledge.)

The Republican Establishment refused to budge on their rules, opting for procedural process over saving the country. They tried to negotiate a $32 billion dollar cut that would work under the current rules, but the new Tea Party members wouldn't have any of it. They didn't budge.

It appears now that this morning the Tea Party members may have decided to meet the Establishment halfway with this $60 billion number. This is troubling. If that is the case then they made a terrible mistake giving in to the Democrats with the main issue as to why we put them in power in November: STOP THE DEMOCRAT AND OBAMA SPENDING IN ITS TRACKS!

The hell with YOUR rules right now, guys! Obama and his merry band of radical leftist Democrats have no rules. In fact, they make them up as they go along, and then they break those too!

Obama and the Democrats broke every rule imaginable, stomping their filthy feet all over the Constitution on their way to passing all these devastating bills like Obamacare and the "stimulus" just to name two.

Senator King, God Bless him, was fervently trying to work on a proposal of rewording the Republican's parliamentary rules so that the Republican rules that the Republicans had put into place would allow the Republicans to cut the full, $100 billion they promised in their Pledge to America. As of this writing I have not been able to locate any stories regarding King's effort. I suspect that with what transpired this morning, King's courageous attempt was futile.

This is quite disappointing. Even in the light of the Republicans doing some great things since taking over the House, this cannot be tolerated. They cannot let up at all. In this case, it's their own rules that trumped what is best for our nation during a serious financial crisis.

Somehow, it would appear that the new members succumbed to the Republican Establishment who still "say" they want to "reach across the isle" and work with their radical, liberal colleagues on the other side.

After everything the Democrats have said and done to the Republicans in recent years, not to mention what they have done to our economy and to our country as a whole, the Republican Establishment knows that they really can't work with their radical colleagues, rather they just still want to be accepted in the D.C. click. That's what it's all about. They still want to be able to get their invitations to the parties, be accepted inside the Washington cocktail circuit in a town saturated to its core with liberal Democrats.

Buck them, and you are left out.  The hell with doing what's right.

Chuck
