It's TIME's Turn, Joining NY Times and Rest of Media to Soften November Blow
Posted: October 13, 2010, 11:00AM►Three Midterms Challenges That Have Republicans Worried
There is no doubt that anything can happen in three weeks. That is an eternity when it comes to elections. The double standard, however, by the media on how they report the lead-up to the Republican's inevitable strong election day victory versus how they reported the lead-up to the Democrat's victories in 2006 and 2008 is strikingly profound.
TIME raises the issue of overconfidence in the Republican Party. Nobody was more confident than Pelosi and Reid, among many others, in their takeover years. The question is if the Republicans are confident ENOUGH to retake the reigns?
The piece suggests that the Republicans could be past their peak. That is absurdly inaccurate. If the Republican's had peaked already it would be hard to imagine how much more Sharon Angle might have raised above and beyond the $14 million she announced yesterday.
This piece almost sounds as if it is sending out subliminal instructions and reminders to Democrat operatives on what can topple the potential Republican landslide. "The Screwup" certainly reminds readers of George Allen's "macaca."
They are trying hard to soften the blow, and now TIME has joined New York Times to the rescue.
