Obama - Losing His Mojo?

Posted: August 3, 2009, 10:04AM

ObamaJoker This poster of President Obama as Heath Ledger's Joker in the last Batman movie started in Los Angelos - a liberal mecca. Here is how I see this photo that is now popping up everywhere.

Last year it was COOL to vote for candidate Obama. The youth and many adults jumped on a COOL bandwagon.  Most never read his books, never studied who he was and blocked out any opposition or descent with sarcasm and arrogance, unbeknown to them their reaction to candidate Obama was based solely on emotion, simple ignorance and misinformation that they chose to not research. Even if they had, they didn't want to believe it.

Now, the danger for President Obama and his administration, as well as members of the Democrat Party who choose to either go down with his ship or abandon him to salvage what's left of 2010 mid elections, is that it's now becoming COOL to make fun of President Obama. It's starting now, and when it spreads, and it will fast - when it becomes COOL to make fun of this monumental mistake, he will not recover and it will be the end of his presidency - one he does not deserve.

I did an interesting search and in this short time as Obama's polls go down the market rallies. Every time his signiture issues fail, the Dow goes through the roof. It tanked during the "stimulus" days and when it passed.  It tanked when the House passed Cap and Trade then rallied when the Senate chose not to put it to vote and place it on the backburner, for now anyway. The health care bill in and of itself is an obvious disaster and looking more and more like it's not going anywhere (especially now with passionate and INFORMED constituent rallies at town hall meetings) and the market is rallying.  Last week when it was announced that the full House will not vote until after August, the Dow surged past 9,000.

When Obama fails, America wins.

What President Obama fails to realize is that whenever something(someone in this case) goes up, it must eventually go down and that is exactly what is happening to his popularity and he does not know how to deal with that. He is used to everyone showing him deference and in the real world, that just doesn't happen. He will take responsibilty for the market going up and it will be because of him, just not in the way he thinks. His ego is so large, he does not expect to fail, but he will.
Nice picture, by the way.

First of all I noticed that all comments are considered before actually being posted. I have also noticed that this seems to be a right wing blog. So hopefully this gets posted. I will check later to see. If it doesn't get posted then I know that who ever this blog belongs to is a coward and is only concerned with spreading hate and disillusionment. I am neither.right or left. I do not want our country to fail nor do I want Obama to fail. Nor did I want Bush to fail. When do we start giving respect back to our presidents that we elect by majority and when do we learn to let go? If you are so concerned about our country, you would not be wishing our Presudent to fail no matter who he is. I fear there is something more insidious in your thoughts. That is what is scary.

Janet, thanks for commenting. I have been hoping for opposing opinions to post that haven't been laced with profanity. Thank you for being respectful, although quite condescending.

I will root for President Obama when he promotes constitutional policy rather than radical Keynesian socialism policy that are destructive. As an American you too should hope he doesn't succeed in gettting such radical policy through legislation.

Also, when is he going to call for peaceful townhall debate rather than inciting violence by calling in his union thugs and literally saying to "punch back twice as hard!" That is not an American thing to do and it is so beneath the dignity of the presidency he obviously does not respect.

In reply to Janet, I do respect my country, I do respect the office of the Presidency, but until President Obama can show me that he is helping our country, not running up a national deficit that will take years to pay, show some consideration to our Seniors and try and get real health-care reform, not a trillion dollar, single-payer system either and finally when he can slow down and actually listen to the American people, then, yeah, he can have my respect, but until then, I will continue to fight for this country's core values and founding principles.
By the way, I'm one of those right-wingers, too, and different opinions are always welcome at my sight, and yes we do screen because we get people who only use four letter words to express themselves all the time. http://lorriek.wordpress.com

Hi Janet,

First let me say Chuck is not a coward and loves when dissenting views are posted on his website. Did you happen to see the back and forth on my Sarah Palin column? He is also someone that does not spread hate. He is very strong in his beliefs and thinks that everyone should be able to voice their opinions, because this is the United States of America.

I can see where you are coming from, but you can only support a president for so long and then it is not so much about supporting our president, but supporting our country. I did not vote for Obama, but I hoped that he would help our country. I have to say I agree with Chuck and Lorrie and think he is taking us in the wrong direction.

Unfortunately, the healthcare bill is following in line with the stimulus package and cap and trade. That's why it is so important to be involved in politics and know how your representatives are voting. I don't know if you saw my column on Rep. John Fleming. He has an amendment that says if you vote yes for the healthcare bill then you will opt out of the congressional healthcare plan and use the plan that the rest of America will be using. So far there are only 63 Representatives who have signed onto this amendment. This then begs the question as to why every representative hasn't signed on. If it is good enough for us then why isn't it good enough for them?

I am also quite disillusioned and offeneded as to the way the media, members of Congress, and the administration is portraying the people who attend these healthcare townhall meetings. I have never been to a townhall meeting, but if my representative has one I am going to go. I don't receive talking points from the GOP and am not part of a group, but am concerned about healthcare, as I think are the majority of the people who are attending these meetings. However, I think some people may now be afraid to go after what happened to the black man who was giving away buttons and T-shirts outside a St. Louis townhall meeting by members of SEIU (a left-wing group). If you haven't heard they beat him up and he had to be taken to the hospital. It's this type of intimidation that is detrimental to our freedoms. And unfortunately, these groups (SEIU, Acorn, etc.) are favored by President Obama. I'm not saying he sent them out to do this, but am only mentioning this because their leaders are people Obama associates with. As my mother always told me, you can judge a person by the friends they keep.

Whether you vote for a president or not doesn't mean you always have to agree with him. We all need to remember that he works for us and it is our duty to let our presidents and members of Congress know what we think. That is the only way things will ever change for the better.

I agree there is a lot of hate from the extreme ends of both parties, however this is not the majority of us. It is OK to disagree and then listen to others opinions. That is the way we all learn and often even better ideas can come from these exchanges.

I agree with Cynthia, it is so o.k. to disagree and it is important for both sides to take a stand, but what I find ironic is that the left seems to have a huge problem now that the right has woken up and are expressing their opinions. These are real opinions, not manufactured, these are real concerns that affect every american and with all of the changes that are in direct conflict with the welfare of America this president must understand that opposition is a natural conclusion. When you ignore the people's will, you will have descension. This doesn't make us bad people, it makes us good citizens. And I totally agree, Chuck is no coward and this is not hate, it's passion for what is right!

A few nights ago the U.S. Senate was given a bill of some 1,000 pages at around midnight and was expected to vote on it the next day just after lunch. Does anyone know what Bill that was?
Thank you kindly

Jerry
